The book is a collection of analogue photographs from the photographer Isabell Hoffmann, which were made during her entire course of studies.
Through the pictures she asks how the rural areal, the idyll and our romanticized images fit into the ›real‹ world.
With impressive and sometimes quirky motifs, you can see how the technical development shapes these areas almost like a factory and how the concept of the "countryside" has been deconstructed.
With the arrangement and overlapping, the artist decides which parts of the images will be seen and which are hidden. Also, part of the concept is to put the quotes on the endpapers. So you're getting thrown into the book with relatively complex text snippets.
The book is part of Isabell Hoffmanns diploma work at the HGB Leipzig.
